Kindness Matters

This Morning Gwen and I stopped at the grocery store to get some diaper rash ointment. She was walking the store holding my hand when a nice cashier named Cathy commented on how cute she was. She immediately went into "shy mode" and dropped to the floor. Cathy was very sweet and asked if Gwen would like a sticker? I said she could have one. At the checkout line not only did she give Gwen a sheet of stickers but a balloon too! She was a gem and Gwen managed to eek out a "thank you."

Its instances like this that make me miss being in a public customer service setting. I liked being a teller and actually knowing my customers. I like offering candy or treats to the children when they came in. Being on the phones I can still provide some level of that same service, but its not the same.

Cathy showed me that kindness matters. It makes all the difference in the world to your outlook for the day. Thank you Cathy!
